
About SAZAPT
The Southern Arizona Association for Play Therapy (SAZAPT) was established in the year 2000. SAZAPT is a branch of the Association for Play Therapy, an international organization with over 5,000 members. The purpose of SAZAPT is to foster understanding of the discipline of play therapy, as well as its uses, and to establish professional standards for practice. SAZAPT is a non-profit professional association that invites your membership, support, and participation.

President ~ Dana Holtz, LPC, CSC, NCC, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor
Dana currently works at Pinal Special Education in Casa Grande. The program specializes in working with children with emotional and behavioral difficulties. Her favorite toy in the playroom is a set of soft blocks that can be transformed into anything the imagination can create - the possibilities are endless.

Currently the Assistant Director of Presidio Counseling, Inc. in Tucson, Juliet specializes in working with children who struggle with attachment disorders as well as those who are victims of sexual abuse. Her favorite toy in the playroom is a blue squeezy ball that has its own version of "hair." Children love to make it into a monster.

Barbara, our only Registered Nurse on the Board, works at Turning Points in Tucson. When considering her favorite toy in the playroom, she identified two favorites. She enjoys using racquetballs and bean bags as icebreakers as well as for use as sensory integration tools. Barbara also finds the art bin to be of great importance because "anything goes!"
